He arrived at ten. She had known he was coming — the Vault's post-incident protocol required a responding Alpha follow-up within seventy-two hours, and Dacre ran his obligations on schedule. She had spent the morning managing what needed to be managed before he arrived: Priva briefed on the lobby-only protocol, Bram brought upstairs to the third floor with clear instructions to stay there, the ground floor cleared of anything that would give Dacre's wolf a fresh scent trail worth following. She had also had Priva take Bram to the window. The third-floor window looked down at the lobby entrance. It was a precaution — if Dacre arrived with additional wolves, or if the follow-up turned out to be something other than a follow-up, she wanted Priva to have a full view and a clear exit route.
