It felt like a dream, a cruel nightmare that came to life. Seeing Jessica and Nico together brought a suffocating ache I couldn’t ignore.
His embrace I had once yearned for, longed for in those lonely days, now felt hollow. It was nothing like the solace I found in Xavier’s arms.
Getting the cold shoulder from Xavier was one kind of pain, but their arrival was an entirely different torment.
“You guys are finally here!” Emily’s sudden voice from behind jolted me, and pulled me out of my thoughts.
