My heart pounded in my chest. I wasn’t just angry—I was disappointed. Ashlyn had lied to me. I would not have been that mad, but when I got to know Nico was in it, and she tried to protect him, it broke my patience.
Never in my dream had I thought she would do that. The more I thought about it, the more I gripped the steering wheel tightly.
The sudden ring on my phone rang, dragged me out of my thoughts. Taking out the phone, when I glanced at the caller ID, it was Amanda.
Sighing, I picked it up and put it on speaker. “Yes, I’m on my way—”
“Can you please hurry up?” she interrupted, her voice urgent. “She’s getting uncontrollable.”
