Ashlyn's POV
Tossing the vest aside, I ran after Xavier and Evan.
“Ahh! Brother, it's hurting!” Evan cried out.
“Exactly what I want!” Xavier said and kept on dragging him down the stairs.
Once entering the kitchen, he shoved Evan ahead.
“Do you have any sense of responsibility or not? What is this all?” Xavier grumbled, strolling around the house. “Do you have any idea that you nearly burnt the whole place down?”
Laughing nervously, Evan rubbed his ear and replied, “I am sorry, brother. I didn't mean to. I will clean it right away.”
“See how much food you have wasted?” He pointed below the counter. “One job, Evan! I have assigned you just one work and this what–”
Unknown, he stepped on the egg mess and slipped hard. The laugh tried to spill out, but I clenched my teeth.
