Benny’s POV
We walk out of my apartment building into the chilly afternoon air. Tanner’s hand is firmly grasped in my own as Liberty and Austin walk behind us hand in hand, Liberty on the outside as always. Pippa is happily trotting along in front of me, her tail wagging back and forth, as she keeps her head close to the ground, sniffing everything we pass with interest.
We make our way down the sidewalk, heading toward the small dog park that is situated a couple of blocks away. I keep Pippa’s leash short, staying to the inside of the sidewalk as people walk past us in the opposite direction. So far, the rottweiler has shown no signs of aggression, but I’m not taking any chances, especially with how her previous owner treated her. I may look relaxed, but I’m watching everyone who appro
