Into the Depths

[Livy] The mines were fairly spaced out from each other. We didn’t know how deep they were. There were no maps of the mines in Young’s office. We were going in totally blind. My team was good. They communicated well and saved their energy as much as they could while we trekked to the opening of the mine. They all followed my instructions to the letter. I needed that. The first level of the mine we went to was fairly typical, I guess. There were no branches off from the main pathway. It sloped slightly down as we went further. When we reached the end of the first level, instead of finding a shaft with some sort of elevator, we found that there was a slightly steeper slope down that went around a curve. Like a ramp. The second level was difficult. Almost immediately, we saw skeletons.
