CHAPTER 14. THE BLACKOUT ELODIE’S POV I don’t suddenly know what to say. I don’t even know what to think anymore. He pounds into me without mercy, every thrust sharp and deep, the rhythm merciless, and the heat in my chest begins to choke me. My breath seizes, my lungs refusing to pull air. My mouth opens and closes like a fish desperate for water, but I can’t breathe, can’t draw in enough. A groan rattles up my throat, high and broken, and my eyelids flutter violently as if I am fighting to keep them open. My eyes roll back, showing only the whites, every nerve in my body overwhelmed by the brutal pace.
