The first thing Joaquin and the higher ranks did after returning to the castle was patrol close to the gate. Joaquin had a feeling that another war was brewing. Now that he has announced his Queen, his enemies will be coming from every direction. Joaquin knew Byron, Hagen, and Riggins were still dealing with the fact the women were dragons and nighthawks. He had a feeling the four women were some kind of creature. But like Byron regarding them being dragons, it never came into his thoughts.
Joaquin, Francemia, Byron, Riggins, and Hagen are in the den drinking Cognac when Starr, Phylicia, Jenna, and Delilah return from their night of flying after the battle. The four women noticed the stares when they entered the room. This was the first time they revealed themselves to anyone.
