The moment Aria’s body went limp, my hands tightened around the wheel. My mind went, what the f**k?
I flicked my gaze to her, expecting some kind of reaction. Another insult, maybe that smug smirk she always had when she thought she was winning. But there was nothing. Her head lolled slightly to the side, her breathing shallow.
My pulse spiked as I slammed my foot on the brakes. The tires screamed as I yanked the wheel, pulling the car to a sharp stop on the side of the road.
