Michael Reese. I knew I was waking up before I could even open my eyes. An enticing scent filled my nostrils, so sweet and intoxicating. I slowly opened my eyes, wondering if I did, frowning at the darkness that surrounded me. The last memory was so vague in the back of my mind. Only Hayden’s saddened face was clear in my head. He was staring at me, crying, while a blinding light surrounded us. The more I focused on this memory, the more my mind started functioning properly. The rest of the memories soon started flooding in. The memory of attending the school Hayden taught in, the fight with Rick, the time at Hayden’s apartment, the day I marked him. Everything that happened during the fight and the pain I felt when Hayden stabbed me. It was all so fresh in my mind. I heaved a sigh, f
