Elliot Silence. Nothing has ever been this silent.    It’s not that noises weren’t going around me, I just couldn’t hear anything. I was whisked away into another room.    Someone came into the room. She was standing at the bedside, telling me something, but all I heard was the ringing in my ears. A loud, high pitched, screeching sound. I put my hands up to cover my ears, hoping the noise would stop.    And it was as if someone had mercy on me because everything became silent again.
