“Do you want to go home together? Or umm?” I ask, leaving it open ended so she could decide what she wants.
“Or what?” She asks.
“Umm… well… you know…” I stammer out. I usually don’t get nervous, but I am f*****g nervous and even scared that I am going to screw this up, again.
“I’m just giving you a hard time on purpose, Devin. Your reaction was as expected and absolutely comical,” she says, chuckling.
“Comical for you, I was scared for a minute,” I start chuckling, too, “wait, does that mean?”
“Another chance? Yes, I can take you home,” she tells me, and that sounds like it was a definitive yes.
“Good,” I pick her up, throw her over my shoulder, and take her to the car before she starts playing more tricks on me. My heart can’t handle that right now.
