I didn’t say anything as we left Dr. Yates’ office. Elijah walked ahead of us while Mason and Jaxon were behind me, talking in low voices, but I could still hear what they were saying. They were concerned about me.
Greyson didn’t say anything. He looked like he was thinking hard about something, but knowing him, he probably was still annoyed.
When we got outside, Elijah told us that he was leaving. I figured he had somewhere else to be, and honestly, I was kind of glad that he left. My head was starting to hurt, and his voice would’ve made it worse.
We walked for a bit without saying anything. The silence felt like too much, but I didn’t know what to say first. Mason finally broke it.
“You okay?” he asked, looking at me.
“Not really,” I said. “But I guess I will be.”
