Cold shook his head like I wasn’t even worth the air between us, then continued with a much louder voice.
“Just because Nathan had to leave for a diplomatic meeting in another pack, you thought that gave you permission to spread your legs for another man? Huh?” His lip curled in disgust. “That was the opportunity you were waiting for?”
My eyes widened in shock. “W-What?” I gasped, forcing myself shakily to my feet, even as my knees trembled beneath me. “Cole… how could you say that?” My voice cracked with emotion as hot tears blurred my vision.
I looked at him first. Then, at Madison, Eve and the others, searching their faces for a hint of doubt, of compassion, of anything that might mean they hadn’t bought into this lie completely.
