What the hell? This was not what I expected.
First of all, why hadn’t Nathan told me we were coming here? And second—how did he even know my mother was admitted to this hospital?

I’d been sneaking out of the pack mansion for weeks just to check on her. I couldn’t just abandon her. Had Nathan been watching me this whole time?
“Have you been stalking me? What the hell are we doing here? You couldn’t even tell me we were visiting?”
Nathan scoffed, his expression unreadable. “Oh, so I should’ve asked for permission?” He leaned in slightly. “Come on, Adele. I’m your fiancé—we’re getting married soon. Isn’t it normal for me to want to see my mother-in-law?”
