For a moment, I briefly wondered what he was doing there with her. Or... were they a thing now? I hadn’t had the chance to hear what she’d said that day, thanks to Nathan interrupting us. And somehow, I never bothered to ask her again.
"Oh, look who we have here!" Daniel grinned, standing up and stretching his hands toward me. "Nice to meet you. I'm Daniel. I know the last time we met was a little awkward, and I’m sorry about that."
He gave me a genuine smile, and I could tell he was sincere, so I took his hand. "It's fine. I'm Adele."
Madison suddenly clapped her hands and tapped the empty seat beside her. "Come on, Adele. Let's enjoy ourselves."
