Chapter 20: The Shaykh of the Righteous Jann
Well beneath the surface of the earth, where the light of the golden sun never penetrates, lie a series of enormous caverns wherein dwell the righteous Jann. Like all the djinni they are half mortal and half demonic, descendants of the mating of humans and daevas when the world was young. Yet unlike all the other djinni, the righteous Jann learned the words of Oromasd and became followers of the light and enemies of Rimahn, lord of darkness. This made them pariahs and outcasts from the ranks of their cousins, and they live apart even from the other Jann to whom they are related.
