We ended up being stuck in traffic for a very long time, and never reaching for Zach's 'evening plans'. This is how it is sometimes in New York City. Even as much as I asked him to just tell me what his surprise was when we went to The Royale for dinner, he seemed adamant upon not 'telling' me, but 'showing' it to me the next day, spiking my nerves about what his surprise could be.
The time we spent was good just like I had anticipated. The dinner was mostly full of only small conversations. We spoke about work and just many, many things in general. While Zach had a few drinks, I avoided drinking but I found myself being attracted to that glass of rum more than often.
I wasn't even fond of rum. Hell, I wasn't even fond of alcohol in general. But you know how it always works, yo
