“I saw your car outside the cafe,” Dad remarked when I picked up his call. I had just arrived home with Clark, whose mischievous expression was written all over his face. “I was just passing by earlier, Dad,” I said, hoping to keep the conversation brief. Before he could ask any more questions, I abruptly ended the call. A wave of annoyance washed over me as I glanced at Clark. The urge to confront him surged within me; his possessiveness in my car frustrated me to no end.
