The afternoon sun spilled gently over the wide veranda of the Vergara mansion. Nagdala iyon ng kakaibang init sa puso ng bawat isa. It felt surreal, everything about the place, the silence, the breeze, the scent of aged wood and blooming sampaguita in the garden. This was supposed to be hers. All of it.
Helena stood near the doorway. Nakangiti siya kanina noong niyakap niya ang abogado na ipinadala ni Iggy. It was a gesture of gratitude, relief, and disbelief all at once. The process had finally begun. The hacienda, the mansion, the legacy stolen from her family, unti-unti na iyong bumabalik sa kanya.
