“We have a son together?”
My breath hitched as I heard those words leave his mouth.
I closed my eyes for a moment, gripping the edge of the counter to steady myself. Did I hear him correctly? How did he find out about Liam?
Was it my mother again?
I cleared my throat. “Who told you that?” I asked with a nervous scoff. “We don’t have a son together.” I lied through my teeth.
“Don’t lie to me, Valerie.” Patrick’s tone was serious. “Why will you keep something like that from me for so many years?” He added with a hint of disappointment in his voice.
“We don’t have a son together, don’t contact me anymore.”
