My chest tightened as if someone had just knocked the air out of me.
Valerie smiled. “Happily.”
I felt my heart crushing into a million tiny pieces,
Honestly? I had this glimpse of hope that she hadn’t moved on to someone else. I always felt that we would eventually find our way back to each other, no matter how many years it would take.
