From Enemies to Couple.

Episode 9

As this continued the fisherman then held the hand of prince Sando and said to him, "You will have to go to the chief of this land first and go with your men so that you can hear what he has to say and after he must have said it you will then know the next action to take. Do not think that I know everything for my Knowledge is limited to fishing. When I first spoke with the king and his Lolo concerning the men that came to look for you he sounded displeased and in front of his wife told me plainly that he was not going to allow anything make him ask me to allow your men to stay in the land of Okwu. The truth of the matter is that even though these things happen there is still possibility that the king has changed his mind and has decided to welcome you and your men and have you all stay in our kingdom but if you go and he says his words stand then take your men and leave peacefully for there was a time when I visitor who did not want to do what our king asked him to do met his untimely death in the hands of the people of Okwu. Do you know how he died? He was stoned to death. This is something you would not want to become your fate and the fate of the ones you call your men"

"I have heard all that you have said and I am willing to adhere to them. If I go to see the Chief and he says leave we will leave and never return again" Prince Sando said and he and Lalah with the rest of the teams went off to the palace of the Chief of Okwu land. When they got there they met few people in the palace and it was as if they were elders. The Chief was not there amongst them according to Lalah. The Chief was inside the house. The prince and his men stood and waited after they had greeted the elders in the palace. Shortly the Chief emerged and stood. The rest of the elders stood up too while he asked them to sit. They are waited until he sat then they all sat. He began while looking directly towards the side where Prince Sando was standing.

"You of all should have known better that after you have been given a chance you do not go abusing the chance that was given to you or do you not know that you have abused the privilege given to you? The fisherman who welcomed you into his hut welcomed only you but then these men came and you tried to welcome them into our land. Have you not been told that our land does not accept visitors? Yes today I am forced to reconsider. I must reconsider because I want a change, all thanks to my wife who is the pillar of this new idea. She says, give them a chance and I want to give you a chance. I am saying that it I am going to allow you to stay" he said while pointing towards the prince and then he pointed towards the rest while saying to prince Sando, "You will stay and these ones will stay but that will be after you promise to be responsible for their actions and whatever they do here from today onwards" The chief stopped speaking to hear what prince Sando. In his heart he knew that he was an important person, for it was only an important person that others bow to. He had been told that the new people that joined prince Sando knelt before him and he had no need for someone to tell him that he was an important person. He was not accepting him or them because he had realised he was an important person but because he wanted to test the suggestion of his wife, the Lolo of Okwu land.

Prince Sando stepped forward and to the surprise of Lalah and the rest of the men he knelt before the Chief. As he knelt he said,"My lord and my elders permit me to promise that we are not bad people and we won't do anything that will hurt your confidence in us. We are going to stay, farm here and take care of all that you would want us to take care of" the prince promised and the Chief stood and placed his hand on his back and gave him his blessings. The prince arose and he and Lalah and the rest of the team all left. when they left the Chief said to the elders, "He is a good lad and he will go far in life. I can see it in his eyes" the elders nodded in agreement.

Back in the hut of the fisherman he was so angry because he had caught his wife saying to her best friend of how handsome the prince was. He immediately concluded, after he had scolded her that the prince was not going to stay in his hut any longer if by any chance the chief of Okwu decided to allow them stay in the land of Okwu. He was outside his hut, biting his finger when he noticed the prince and the rest returning from the Chief's palace and he angrily went to them an held the chest of prince Sando angrily. Immediately he held his chest Lalah tried to stop him by pushing him off but prince Sando stopped him from stopping the fisherman. He waited to know what the fisherman was going to say was the cause of his anger.

"You can not come into my home and turn away my wife's eyes. My wife no longer talks about me but rather she speaks about you. How can she be this wicked to speak of you in that regard. It means I hold no more value where she is. You can not stay in my main hut or any of my huts Sando. You must find a way to stay here if actually the Chief has granted you the privilege of staying in our land. You and your men will have to look for a place to stay" he released the prince and walked away angrily. Immediately he left the prince was filled with emotions. He knew how the man felt to be relegated by the wife. He understood what if meant to be heartbroken. He had been in that place before and he could remember all that he passed through. He thought back while still standing there.

On that faithful day the prince, prince Sando who had decided to fall in love and stay in love with a commoner in his kingdom was let down had wanted to go to the hut of the said girl unannounced to surprise her. During that time his mother was still alive and she warned him severally that women could be deceptive and that he should not place all his heart and mind on a girl. He did not want to listen and had instead told his mother that there was no way a mere commoner would hurt him or betray his trust and confidence. This boldness of faith from the prince had made the mother to think that his son might be right about his choice and that he knew what he was doing. His mother resorted not to continue to hinder him from following his heart desire but it was his heart desire that broke his heart and shattered his dream of ever loving again. On that day he met his woman on top of another man as he did not inform her he was coming and saw this awful sight through the window of her room. He went home and did not want his mother to know of what had happened but he was not able to hide his mood. His mother who was a master finder found out what was eating her son up even before he could think of hiding it for too long. The mother had gone behind his back to meet with the woman and when the lady saw the Queen enter her compound she was shocked and scared. She never believed that in her life the Queen of the land of Gaa would pay her a visit. She had been trying to reach out out to prince all to no avail and she had been worried, so worried that she decided that she would wait for him in the town square where he normally went to help the less privileged. When the queen reached where the young woman was standing the young lady bowed before her and she asked her to stand and she did. She tried to bring out a seat for the queen but the men with her told her to stop and remain knelt on the ground until the queen was done speaking to her. The queen then said after the young woman had retaken her position on the ground and waited. Her heart was beating fast.

"Young lady, it appears you are shocked to see me in your compound. You are not sure if it I have been given an address by any of your relatives but the truth is that I do not know any of your relatives and I would not want to know because as it stands you have annoyed me beyond repair. You are going to make sure that everything I am going to say that you obey them because if you do not I am going to make sure that you do not have any more reason to be alive. Am I understood?" she queried and the young woman nodded without delay.

"Now, I learnt that you are the one that my son is seeing. There is no need to deny it because whatever I choose to know I know and whatever I choose to find out I find out as long as I remain the queen of this great and powerful land of Gaa. Having said this I am saying that you are the one whom my son is dating or should I say was dating because as it stands he is no longer your toy to be used as you like. You broke his heart by sleeping with another man in your house" she broke the news to her.
