He chuckled, brushing a strand of hair from my face. “Sweetheart, you really think I’d let him walk into my city, into my home, and just… leave?”
I pushed his hand away. “He’s not your enemy, Dev.”
His expression hardened. “He’s a man who thought he could have what’s mine.”
I clenched my fists. “I was never yours to begin with!”
Dev’s eyes darkened. “Say that again.”
I turned away, but he grabbed my wrist, pulling me flush against him.
Instead, I met his gaze, determined. “Let Arjun go after this.”
