Part 2 The door clicked open. Kaaya froze, her fingers still resting on the embroidered pillow. A heavy silence filled the air before she turned, slowly, her breath catching in her throat. Dev stood at the threshold, his gaze sweeping over the room like a storm barely contained. His dark eyes, always unreadable, flickered with something she couldn't quite place shock, satisfaction, possession. Maybe all of it. Dressed in his signature black shirt, sleeves rolled up, the first few buttons undone, he looked like he had just walked out of a war zone.
