Today had gone well. Mostly. While Holly and Ally were off on their run, I noticed Holly’s mum standing in the lobby, looking a little lost. I approached her and asked if everything was ok. She told me that she was worried that she had caused problems between my parents. I assured her that it would take more than her presence here to shake my parents' marriage. They were mates, after all. She asked if we could talk. She wanted to get to know me. She said that there was much that she needed to understand about the whole mate bond thing.
