I had seen what that bastard was going to do. He was going to kill Tina just because she had finally seen him for exactly what he was. I couldn’t let that happen. Besides, Holly had lost enough. She had lost her entire life. I couldn’t let her lose her mum, too. I shifted in mid-air, hoping to knock the knife from his hand or at least distract him for a minute. A searing pain shot through me as the blade pierced my skin. I dropped to the ground. The sheer agony caused me to shift back. I saw Tina drop to her knees next to me. I felt her pushing on the wound, and then darkness swallowed me whole.
