It took a week before the welling in Sun’s face disappeared and he resembled himself again. The doctor was keeping him in an induced coma but early in the morning; they told Mork, they would start withdrawing the drugs which were keeping him under. He had also informed Mork that Sun didn’t have to wake up right away. It might take another several days before he would regain consciousness.
The heartbeat monitors kept beeping, which was like music to Mork’s ear. He feared the moment the monitor would stop beeping. The sound of a flat line on the monitor, the heartbreaking tone which announced death terrified him every day. The sound which announced the death of his parents.
