Anthenet's POV Suddenly, I'm jolted awake as the car comes to a screeching halt. "Sh*t." Clay grumbles, his eyes twitching and a protruding vein in his neck violently pulses. I attempt to sit up in his arms, turning my attention to whatever his eyes are fastened on, which I assume is whatever made Taylor stop. It is a guy, standing in the middle of the cart road dressed in a hooded black cloak with his face partially covered. The sight of him makes the hairs on my back stand on end and my heart races the moment he lifts his head, his dark eyes penetrating the space between us and locking in on me.
