When we finally emerged from my bedroom, Sadie was wide-awake, sitting on the couch, watching cartoons. After saying, “Good morning,” to her, I pulled Elena into the kitchen, where we prepared a nice breakfast, consisting of cheesy scrambled eggs, waffles, sausage patties and blueberries.
