I could hear the disappointment in Katerina’s voice when I told her that I had been distracted by Svetlana, and it made me feel horrible. Kat gave me the go ahead to keep spending time with Svetlana, but I was already getting ready to leave, so I could spend time with her, and that’s exactly what I did.
Katerina was clearly tired, so I took her straight to the bedroom, where she fell asleep in a matter of minutes with her head resting on my shoulder and her hand resting on my chest. I kept my left arm wrapped around her back and side while I kept my right hand resting on top of hers.
Sleep wasn’t coming easy for me. I laid there for hours, thinking about ways I could make today up to Katerina, since I was still feeling bad about blowing her off for Svetlana.
