1311 Words

Marco’s POV. In has been two weeks since Serafina’s funeral. Today, the survivors are going home. Mic has been saying her goodbyes for hours and I know they will all become great friends. They are connected by something so traumatic and that will bond them forever. I watch as Mic waves the SUVs away as she stands on the driveway until the SUVs move out of sight. She turns and walks back up the steps and back inside. “You need to eat.” I say to her, and she looks at me and sighs, nodding her head. This has taken so much out of her. She has her moments battling with the depression but she is doing better. Alfonso went back to New York two days ago with her mother’s ashes. They talk all the time. He did say he would be back, and we arranged for her to visit her family home in New York.
