Lucius's POV
I wanted nothing more than to stay with Claire and our unborn pup. Her belly was noticeably rounded now, and according to the doctor, our pup could already hear sounds from the outside world and was becoming more active.
If I placed my hand on Claire's stomach, I could sense our child's presence—the little one that belonged to both of us.
But Claire's anger hadn't subsided. Whenever I was near her, she'd bring up divorce.
I hated that word. Divorce.
It had never once crossed my mind to end our marriage, yet lately, she mentioned it constantly.
We had been in a good place before all this. What changed?
I'd analyzed the reasons. First, Claire thought Evelyn's return meant something big. She really believed I still had feelings for my ex.
