I walked back and forth outside the delivery room. I looked at my watch again and again. Claire had been in labor for hours. The silence behind those doors was getting harder to bear.
Suddenly, something changed. A new scent reached me. It was delicate and familiar but different. My chest filled with an emotion I'd never felt before.
"Our pup!" Raven said inside me. He was very happy. "Our pup is here!"
