Claire's POV
I couldn't help but eavesdrop on the conversation between my colleagues.
"What's the latest gossip? Spill it!"The female coworkers were buzzing with excitement.
Colleague B eagerly shared, "I just saw Emma trying to force her way in to see Mr Watson again. But Adam refused to let her through. She even said he didn't have time for Emma!"
"Is that supposed to be news?" Colleague A scoffed. "I've known for ages that there was no future between Emma and Mr Watson. As if he'd ever be interested in someone like her."
Their words left me puzzled. Hadn't Lucius and Emma Briden been rather cozy lately? She even bragged yesterday about becoming the CEO's wife! What changed so suddenly? Did he find a new lover?
The thought left a bitter taste in my mouth.
