Chapter 1:The beach

557 Words
Days like these are what makes life worth living. Sitting in the sun with my best friend just gabbing about boys and squealing anytime anyone of them noticed us talking about them like a couple of five year olds. If it were up to me this isn't really how we would spend our first day of summer break. I'd like nothing more than sitting at home in our couch watching some comedy central just laughing my ass out with nobody watching me and judging me. Believe it or not im quite shy and having people's eyes on me makes me really nervous and dry mouth but my best friend Anna she is the totally opposite if it wasn't for her id probably wouldn't have friends or fun memories that didn't happen on the couch at home. Anna and i have been best friends since we were five years but i actually met her when i was three years old when we moved in next door to her house. Apparently i dont have one of those welcoming faces or personality. Id see her with her friends or maybe just playing by herself sometimes I'd want to join her and I'd never have the courage no matter how much it pained to have to just sit there alone doing nothing after my mother switched off the tv and tell me to go play outside. One fortunate day Anna just happen to look into our backyard on her way into her house on her dads shoulders and saw me crouched down with hands on my knees with my face buried in them looking a tennis ball between my legs. "Hey?... wanna play?" and those were the three magic words that anna said that started our friendship. Today we were at the beach. its been a while since we have visited, the whole its not that far but our parents instist on us being driven here and while they are at work Annas brother Michael takes a lot to convince and bribe, he is such a dick. "Want ice-cream?" asked Anna nodding her head in the direction of the ice-cream cart. I nod my head yes and turn over on to my belly to get an even tan. All of the sudden something hit me and i turn to see Michael's bag on me. " What the fuck dude?" i stand immediately to look the least bit intimidating. He just looks at me with no care in his eyes "i was doing the world a favor" he spat back "Excuse you?.." i say raising an eyebrow but he just looks me up and down and scoffs and walks away. how dare he i mean i know im not the It girl but im at least lookable. "Whats wrong?" anna asked sitting down then gesturing for me to sit too and i point in the direction of Michael and Anna shakes her head disapprovingly "Come on dont let him get to you like that." she looks at me and i dont even budge my eye contact maintained on Michael "his going to ruin your whole day then he'd have won" in as much as i am shy i am far more competitive and Anna knew that so i calm down. A look of relief on Annas face who hands me the ice-cream
