Adeline rose slowly from where she knelt beside Aaron’s unconscious form. Her fingers twitched, the golden light around them flaring like a warning. She stood tall now, her cloak billowing around her like smoke. Her silver eyes bore into mine with venomous intensity.
"So," she said, her voice as smooth and cold as ice, "you have finally come. The little Lunar Wolf who was supposed to bring the end to our reign."
I didn’t answer. I didn’t have to. The storm inside me was growing.
Adeline tilted her head. Her lips was curled in a cruel smile. “You look stronger than before… But you’re still just a pup playing with fire.”
Then, without another word, she raised her hand and pointed it toward me.
Instantly, I felt it.
An invisible force clamped around my throat like a vice.
