_Dorian’s POV_ The scanner clicked under my thumb, and a soft beep echoed. A moment later, the metallic door slid open with a faint hiss. The warmth inside spilled out, wrapping around me like a blanket after a long storm. I stepped inside, my boots thudding gently against the wooden floor. The scent of herbs, firewood, and something faintly floral hit my nose. It calmed the storm in my chest. And then I saw her.
