Chapter 43

854 Words
_Lyla’s POV_ Darkness surrounded me. I felt like I was floating, lost in a strange place between sleep and wakefulness. My body was heavy, and my mind was hazy, as if I had sunk too deep into a dream and couldn’t escape. I tried to move, but I couldn’t. My limbs felt weak. My fingers were numb. A soft warmth wrapped around me. It was familiar and comforting. The scent of something woodsy and masculine filled my senses. It smelled like Aaron. I wasn’t alone. A strange awareness crept over me, making my skin prickle. Someone was near. I could feel their presence beside me, close—too close. My heart pounded in my chest, but my body refused to react. I forced my eyes open, but my vision was blurred. Shadows danced around me, and the room felt different, almost unreal. I blinked slowly, trying to adjust, trying to focus. Then, I saw him. A figure hovered over me. I could barely make out his face. His features were hazy, shifting like mist. But the more I stared, the clearer he became. Aaron. It was Aaron. He was watching me. His blue eyes burned into mine, filled with something I couldn’t understand. He wasn’t speaking. He wasn’t moving. He was just there, breathing, waiting. I tried to say his name, but my voice was weak. “Aaron…?” He didn’t answer. Instead, he leaned in. I felt his warm breath against my lips, soft and teasing. My body tensed as something brushed against my mouth—a kiss. It was slow and lingering. My heart skipped a beat. His lips moved against mine. A soft sigh escaped me, though I wasn’t sure if it was from confusion or something else. This dream felt too real. Every touch, every breath, every movement sent shivers down my spine. I tried to move, tried to lift my hands, but they felt like they were sinking into the bed. My entire body was wrapped in a strange, heavy warmth, making it impossible to fight. Aaron’s hand slid over my body. His touch was slow and deliberate. His fingers traced along my arm, up to my shoulder, then down again. A strange heat spread through me, making my skin tingle. This wasn’t real. It couldn’t be real. But it felt real. I swallowed hard. My breathing was uneven. “Aaron… what are you doing?” Still, he didn’t answer. His lips moved from my mouth to my jaw, then down my neck. I shivered as his hot breath fanned over my skin, sending waves of warmth through my body. His touch became more urgent, his fingers slipping beneath my nightgown, brushing against my bare skin. A strange mix of emotions flooded me—fear, confusion, something deeper, something I didn’t understand. “I… I don’t…” My words trailed off. Aaron’s hands roamed lower, gripping my waist, pressing me into the mattress. My heart pounded so hard it felt like it might burst. I had to wake up. I had to move. But my body wouldn’t listen. His lips returned to mine, capturing them in another deep, slow kiss. A soft moan slipped from my throat. My body responded even though my mind was screaming at me to fight. His hands moved again, sliding the fabric of my nightgown higher. The cool air brushed against my exposed skin, making me shiver. This wasn’t right. Something was wrong. “Aaron…” I whispered again, trying to push him away, but my arms felt too weak. Then, I heard the rustling of fabric. His warmth pressed even closer. I forced my heavy eyelids open just enough to see movement—his shirt slipping off, his bare chest inches from mine. Panic flared inside me. I needed to wake up. I tried to move, to sit up, to do anything, but the weight of my body pinned me down. Aaron’s lips traced down my collarbone, his hands sliding lower. The feeling of his touch sent a strange sensation through me—one I couldn’t describe. My skin burned where he touched me, my breaths growing shallow. Then, suddenly— Everything changed. The bed beneath me disappeared. The room faded into nothing. I was floating again, lost in an endless void. A cold chill ran down my spine. My body felt trapped between two worlds, caught between something real and something unreal. Then, I felt it. A pressure between my legs. A soft gasp escaped my lips as something pushed inside me, filling me with a sensation that was both strange and unfamiliar. I wasn’t dreaming. I couldn’t be dreaming. This felt too real. My body trembled, my breath catching in my throat. I tried to speak, to move, to do anything, but the darkness held me still. I could hear my own heartbeat, fast and unsteady. I could feel him. His warmth. His weight. His presence. It was overwhelming. I wanted to wake up. I had to wake up. But I couldn’t. I was sinking. Sinking into him. Into the darkness. Into something I couldn’t escape. Then— Everything went black.
