Just as Olivia opened the door, Lucas brushed past her without waiting for a word, heading straight inside.
"Claire..."
He rushed into the living room and spotted Claire sitting on the couch.
The exhaustion in her eyes and the instant chill in her gaze made his throat tighten. His voice was hoarse. "I had no idea what happened this morning."
Claire’s face stayed blank. "So what? You’re here for what, exactly?"
Lucas sat beside her.
She immediately stood up and moved to sit on the other side.

He didn’t follow. Instead, he said, "Tomorrow, I’ll put out a statement myself to clear everything up."
Claire gave a sharp look. "Clear what up? Are you planning to deny your mom’s lies? Or finally admit you cheated on me with Fiona?"
