Chapter 37: Heart Attack
(Aria's POV)
I barely heard what Dominic was saying as we sped through the city streets. His knuckles were white on the steering wheel, and his face was set in grim determination.
"Elizabeth Reed has suffered a severe heart attack," he explained, his voice tight. "Dr. Lewis just called from Silvercrest Hospital."
My blood ran cold. "Alexander's mother? But she was fine when I last saw her!"
"Apparently it happened suddenly. Nathan said she collapsed during a pack meeting."
Despite our complicated relationship, I'd always been fond of Elizabeth. Unlike her husband Richard, she had shown me nothing but kindness during my time as Luna. My heart clenched at the thought of her in pain.
