NINE: THE PLAN
Roland went back to Jeremiah's office and knocked. He opened the door and saw Jeremiah staring off into space.
"Boss," Roland called but got no response. He walked near him and waved his hand in front of his face.
"Boss," he called once more. Jeremiah snapped out of his thoughts and saw Roland.
"What is it?" he asked and cleared his throat. Roland sat on the chair and heaved a sigh.
"How many?" Jeremiah asked.
"Seven," Roland replied. "Seven of our subordinates were infected. I already killed them to prevent another attack," he added.
"Have you seen Mercy's body?" Jeremiah asked.
"Yes, but the thing was, a biter didn't kill him. He didn't even turn into one. He was murdered," Roland said.
