Following the other guests, he proceeded from the private helicopter landing area through a network of secret tunnels, before arriving in a private cubicle. Each cubicle was emblazoned with a letter, used to identify people to each other. Few knew the real identity of the others, few wanted to know; too much knowledge could be dangerous. Each cubicle faced outwards to an oval table. At one end of the table sat the Chairman of the meeting, and at the other the Secretary. These roles rotated by meeting and their duties involved ensuring the coordination of the next meeting, when they would hand over their duties to another.
