Chapter 25 Devon remained still after my outburst with no expression on his face. I wanted to take back every word I had just said but it was too late now. On impulse, I turned around ready to run away from Devon, my low stilettos clicking against the white pavement of the hospital hallway.   “Dammit!” I heard Devon cuss before his steps hurried after me.   The moment I stepped outside, the cold air biting into my face was enough to freshen me up a little, replenishing the limited air supply in my lungs. Almost immediately Devon stopped beside me, falling in step.   “Vivian…” he trailed off in a surprisingly quite voice.   “Please don’t,” I paused, casting a look at him.   “What?”   “Don’t say anything,” I stated calmly.   “Fine.
