In which Deux made a decision.

I slowly backed away from them.
Even if I knew that I needed to get out, I could not. Looking at the face of Braden, I know that I needed to face him sooner or later. The long absence of Mxen is already noticeable, and I am sure that he knew that I would be one to know where she was.
“Did I do something wrong?” Braden asked, his eyes clearly reflecting pain.
Maybe it’s how Braden reacted to all of this. I could see myself in his place, only I could see how I was replaced while he was still reaching for the dark. I gripped my books tighter, unknown how to answer him.
“Vien,” he grumbled, panic swirled around him.
I paused, closing my eyes. “She… uhm…”
