I froze by the door and I saw my whole life flash in front of me. I saw my father running from the gate the second he saw me and myself standing by the door at my boarding school waiting for him.
When he reached me and gave me a hug, I could feel his soft yet securing touch. It made me feel safe. I closed my eyes and all this was a clear picture in my head. A 9 year old me hugging my father.
I could smell him and his scent felt so real it was like he was right in front of me. I heard him call my name like he always did, "Lelethu it's been long.."
