I sit on the ground, her head resting in my lap. My chest shakes as I silently sob, swaying back and forth with tension wrapped around my spine. I don't know what happened, but when she stared back at me, whispering 'f**k' before her eyes rolled over, my heart felt like it stopped. My limbs went numb as I sat on top of her, and I thought I was crushing her fragile body and rolled off, bending over her and I felt relief when she breathed. I didn't kill her with my weight, but she still passed out. The fear of hurting her made me beg for her to come back, and when I even explained what Feram Unum meant, I thought she'd just open her eyes, but it's been minutes of nothing.
