JASON’S POV — Sitting on the edge of the cliff in the woods wasn’t where I’d think I’d be today. The mist hangs thick in the air, the smell of salty water travels with it. My feet are pressed against the hard rocks in front of me as my arms hold my legs close to my chest. Everything is wrong, and it is all my fault. After Elion and I found my father, lifeless and staring at me with his bleak expression, I had him evacuate the pack members, and after they were all gone, I left too. I called my mother as I strode through the woods, and upon saying the words, it hit me harder than when I found him dead. She cried, blamed me and said this would happen, but she never prepared that it would’ve been him, she prepared that it would have been me. That was what she screamed through the phone after
