  Third Person's POV   Rowan accompanied Liora into the private ward once the doctor allowed it. The door closed softly behind them, sealing out the low murmur of nurses and the distant roll of carts in the hallway. Inside, the room was dim, quiet enough to hear every shallow breath that came from the hospital bed.   Her grandfather looked impossibly small beneath the sheets. His silver hair, once thick and commanding, was now thinned against the pillow. The oxygen mask fogged lightly with each strained exhale. For the first time in her life, he looked less like the indestructible force who had raised her and more like a man whose years had finally caught up to him. Liora’s breath hitched.
