Hearing what happened to Heather tore at my heart, I was distracted by the return of Cynthia’s body and did not get back to Heather in time.
I looked at the surveillance camera and I saw that about twenty men had breached our walls and taken my mate away. I have no idea where they went. They had headed to the nearby forest by foot. The only vehicle involved was the one that dropped the body off, and that distraction had cost us. Heather had complained often about how bad our security was, and now she was gone, she had proved she was right. Not the way I would like to be proven wrong. First the stabbing and now this. Yeah, it is time to look at the whole security situation, and have it working right for when I get my mate back.
